On the Octomom

It's true, I've been thinking about Nadya for some time now. I'm intrigued and confused by this whole eight babies, 14 kids thing. Maybe it's that I've never given birth to my own litter... but I haven't known quite how to explain my thoughts on the octomom thing, and then I read Raina Kelley's piece in Newsweek and that pretty much sums it up for me. Read it.

Now when I feel the need to say anything even a little bit mean about the octomom, I can indulge guilt-free because I've already acknowledged my inherent hypocrisy.

Thanks for the link. That was a well-reasoned piece on an unreasonable topic. Glad you passed it on.

Interesting article. I did watch the 20/20 (or was it Dateline?) interview with her, but I can't exactly say that I've been *fascinated* with her. She creeps me out mostly because she keeps trying to deny she had plastic surgery. Come on, does she really thing people would not notice those lips?

I feel sad for the kids, for sure. I do think the state is obligated to assist them. I'm also of the rare opinion that mothers who need the state's care in supporting her children should be obligated to use birth control.

I'm not crazy about Jon and Kate, either. I do watch an occasional Duggars special, more out of interest with their wacky religious beliefs than anything. ;)
